Report illegal content

Anyone can tell Nibld about content they believe is unlawful, with or without a Nibld account.

If you have a Nibld account

Use the report action on the post, comment, story, message, image or profile and choose Illegal content. Reporting from inside the app tells us exactly what you are reporting, which is the fastest route to a review.

If you do not have an account

Send us a notice through the contact form and choose the Illegal content topic. Authorities and rights holders can use the same route. Name and email are optional for this topic.

Send an illegal content notice

What to include in a notice

  • The exact location of the content: a link, or a username or other identifier, where available.
  • Why you believe the content is unlawful, explained clearly enough for us to assess it, and the law you are relying on if you know it.
  • A statement that, to the best of your knowledge, the information in the notice is accurate and complete.
  • Your name and an email address, if you want a confirmation and an answer. These are optional, and you can send a notice anonymously.

Please do not send health data, identity document numbers or payment details. Nibld does not need them.

What happens next

  • Your notice goes into the same moderation queue as in-app reports and is reviewed by a person.
  • If you gave an email address, we confirm receipt and tell you the outcome of the review and the grounds for it.
  • If we act on the content, the person affected receives a decision with the reason and can appeal it.
  • If you disagree with the outcome, you can reply to our answer and ask for it to be looked at again.
  • An anonymous notice is reviewed in exactly the same way, but we have no way to answer it.
